Come join us as we take a trip to the east and south of the Ozark Trail and do some work on the Wappapello section. We have had multiple reports of some issues on the loop trail that is between the Highways 67 trailhead and the Highway F Trailhead (Wappapello Map 3 on the website maps).
The plan will be to weed eat, lop, put up signage, and hopefully do some deadfall clearing (if we have a sawyer available). All tools will be supplied.
If we have enough people we may be able send some folks do another area
We will meet at the Highway F trailhead, (Highway F which is about 2-3 miles south of the St Francis River off of Highway 67) to pass out tools and then head out. The whole loop is just over 6 miles total (East side 2.7, West side 3.5).
Please remember to dress for the work and prepare for the weather. Gloves, long pants and hiking/work boots are required, as we are working on rough ground and using tools. Wearing a hard hat is required in the work area. You may want to bring safety glasses. Have raingear, sunscreen, and bug deterrent. Bring plenty of water (2 liters per person recommended)
This is a day only event, camping will be on your own.
Please contact Jeff if you have any questions
