POSTPONED DUE TO WEATHER

We will meet at Council Bluff for our first post-Covid-19 maintenance event. We have implemented procedures to be utilized in keeping our volunteers safe and healthy. Please read below the information covering the event at this time, which may change before May 14th.

Come one, come all! Join us as we celebrate Mother’s Day with those women we love by giving back to the Mark Twain National Forest. We’re ready for spring weather and what better way to get into the season than a day in the woods.

New Procedures: Volunteers will be required to drive their own vehicles, have a mask and gloves while following proper social distancing throughout the event. The OTA will ensure that all tools are properly disinfected before and after use.

Camping: Tentatively we will be basing out of Council Bluff Lake campground. Social distancing will be required with tent set-ups and around the campfire.

Fun on the Trail:  We will be doing critical maintenance on portions of the OT that still need some tender love and care to ensure our users have a great experience. We need volunteers to help lop, weed eat, sawyers, sawyer assistants (i.e., swampers), and a project involving armoring a section of trail by the dam.

All levels of skill are needed. Please come, and keep in mind social distancing will be enforced to keep everyone safe.

Food: Unfortunately, we will not be providing food at this time so you will be responsible for any meals during the event. This is to protect everyone’s health.

See you on the trail! If you have any questions, please contact Terry, thawn@prodigy.net.
