We’ll be celebrating the springing forward of gaining an extra hour of daylight! Join us as we will be heading back down south to Midco Hollow for a day or two of construction while based out of the USFS Winona facility so we have a place to gather at the night. If you have ever attended ‘Whoopin’ it Up in Winona’, you know it’s as good as it gets to get together at this place.
Details:
Where: USFS Winona facility beginning on Friday, March 6 through March 8. The facility is located on Hwy. 19 just north of Hwy. 60. The facility includes 2 houses with availability of sleeping 6 and 6 in each house. The houses have kitchens, bathrooms and beds. You will need to bring your own bedding and PLEASE note in your sign up for a bed….first come basis. There is camping available in the yard with lots of flat areas.
What: You need to wear sturdy boots, layer clothing due to weather, back pack to carry water, snacks, lunch and what else you might want on the trail for the day. You will be responsible for dinner on Friday(there is the Apple Barrel cafe), breakfast and lunch. The OTA will provide a meal at the end of the day on Saturday. Sunday will be decided later after those who sign up let us know if they want to build on Sunday.
An informational email will be sent closer to the event. If you have questions, contact Terry Hawn at thawn@prodigy.net.
