SUMMARY:Maintenance on the Middle Fork - May 31
DESCRIPTION:We’ll be hitting up the Middle Fork-John Roth Memorial section and will be meeting at 9 am at the OTA office.  Be prepared to do multiple maintenance tasks\, from sawing\, leaf blowing\, lopping\, and weed-eating.  Depending on the number of volunteers\, we will spread out over multiple miles\, addressing the needs. \nWhat you need to bring:  Be sure to dress for the weather\, long pants\, sturdy boots\, bring a backpack to carry water\, snacks\, lunch\,h and whatever else you will need.  Carpooling is an option to the work sites as we will be doing point-to-point maintenance on several miles of trail.  After we complete the maintenance\, everyone will be treated to an end-of-the-day meal for the tremendous day out in the Forest. \nCamping is available at the OTA office on Friday night and Saturday if needed.  Questions? SUMMARY:Winona Maintenance - May 12-21
DESCRIPTION:The spring storms have been brutal on the Ozark Trail.  Here is your opportunity to volunteer one\, two or multiple days especially for our newly certified sawyers. Based out of the USFS Winona facility we will have bunking available at first come basis.  The two story has 11 beds and the annex 9 and will be considered co-ed.  There is plenty of camping spots as well.  Volunteers will be doing trail maintenance over several miles each day and various maintenance tasks including weed-eating\, leaf blowing\, lopping and sawying. \nINFORMATION:  Please note as you sign up what days you will be attending so we can plan on food and eqipment.and if you need a bed.   \nWHAT TO BRING:  Bedding/camping gear\, personal care stuff\, clothing appropriate for the weather(including rainwear)\, boots\, long pants\, backpack to carry your water\, lunch and any other items for being out on the trail for several hours. \nWhat is provided:  The OTA will have dinner and breakfast each day.  Please bring your own lunch fixings. SUMMARY:Saturday .. March 8 \, 2025 -- CANCELED  OT Maintenance on The Courtois
DESCRIPTION:Greetings!  I’m reaching out to everyone registered for this coming weekend based out of the OTA House in Potosi as we do maintenance Saturday on the Courtois section of the OT. \nNeed to know details: \nWhen:  We will gather at 8:30 am at the OTA House in Potosi\, MO..  From there\, we will drive to the work location on Pigeon Roost Rd just south of HWY 8 — about 20 mins from the house..  It will be good gravel road so all vehicles can travel on them with no problem. Be sure to wear layers as it will be chilly in the morning and then get to around 50 degrees in the afternoon. It may be cloudy so\, it there may be a chill in the air throughout the day.  Bring a lunch and plenty of water.  I will have a stove and can heat soup or water to make cocoa and coffee. We won’t be working too far from where the cars are parked.  Bring appropriate clothing to work on the trail digging dirt and wear good hiking boots or shoes.  The OTA will supply gloves\, safety glasses\, helmets and tools. \nWhere: The OTA House  is we are basing out of this weekend. It is located on 406 West High St. The house is just west of the 4-way stop at the Court House — this s Hwy 8 directly across from the Hwy 185 intersection. \nHousing/camping: You can stay over at the  OTA House either camping in the yard or we have some limited sleeping space for 3 or 4 people in the house. \nWhat to bring: Camping gear if you are camping in the yard) personal care items(there is a shower)\, food other than what the OTA is providing dinner on Saturday. We will be coming off the trail by 3PM and head for dinner by 4PM for those who wish to stay. \nOn the Trail:  With any work on the OT\, you need to wear sturdy boots\, long pants\, dress in weather appropriate layers.

SUMMARY:Aid Station support for the OT100M Endurance Run
DESCRIPTION:Volunteers are needed to help man two OTA aid stations during the OT 100m Endurance Run.  The Stillwell Hollow aid station begins at 7:45 am on the Karkaghne section and will be done by noon.  This aid station needs at least 5 Volunteers as we will provide necessary food and drink to all runners at this point.  The other aid station is located on the Middle Fork section on Buick Mine Road called Gunstock Hollow.  This aid station will need at least 5 volunteers and will open at 10:00 am and will be done by 6 pm. \nThis amazing 32-hour\, 100-mile endurance run brings out a phenomenal group of individuals and will begin at 6:00 AM on Saturday\, October 26 – 27th. Not for the faint of running\, this race is mostly on single-track trail with several water crossings and approximately 12\,000 feet of elevation gain. The trail surface varies from smooth dirt trail to moderately technical trail with lots of leaves covering the trail.   \nIf you have any questions\, contact Kathie at 573-382-8270(text). DESCRIPTION:Whooohooo!  Let’s head to our most memorable place ever…Current River SP is located on the Current River\, a National Scenic River.  We will be staying at the old Alton Box Resort in the historic building that has housed many a person who have immersed themselves in this area of the Ozarks.  Housing is first come but camping will be available.  Come for the day or stay a day or two giving back to a trail we are passionate about.  We will have a day of trail maintenance and then return to CRSP for dinner and more fun with a raffle\, fellowship and as always blazing bonfire under a star filled filled sky! \nYou will need to be prepared for the weather\, bring your camping gear and a kindred spirit!
