SUMMARY:Wappapello Bound
DESCRIPTION:Come join us as we take a trip to the east and south of the Ozark Trail and do some work on the Wappapello section.  We have had multiple reports of some issues on the loop trail that is between the Highways 67 trailhead and the Highway F Trailhead (Wappapello Map 3 on the website maps). \nThe plan will be to weed eat\, lop\, put up signage\, and hopefully do some deadfall clearing (if we have a sawyer available). All tools will be supplied. \nIf we have enough people we may be able send some folks do another area \nWe will meet at the Highway F trailhead\, (Highway F which is about 2-3 miles south of the St Francis River off of Highway 67) to pass out tools and then head out.  The whole loop is just over 6 miles total (East side 2.7\, West side 3.5). \nPlease remember to dress for the work and prepare for the weather. Gloves\, long pants and hiking/work boots are required\, as we are working on rough ground and using tools. Wearing a hard hat is required in the work area. You may want to bring safety glasses. Have raingear\, sunscreen\, and bug deterrent. Bring plenty of water (2 liters per person recommended) \nThis is a day only event\, camping will be on your own. \nPlease contact Jeff if you have any questions \nMap Link: https://binged.it/2QdqbBO \n

SUMMARY:Trail Maintenance
DESCRIPTION:The race has been cancelled but we still need to clear the trail. \nTime to finesse the OT in time for the OTA’s fundraiser this fall\, the OT50/100m MTB Race! Let’s make sure the OT is in the best shape it can be for these supreme athletes as they take on one of the most rugged\, thrilling and rear kicking MTB races around! We will be looking at sections of the OT that will need to be touched to be sure these riders get the best bang for their bucks!Volunteers are needed to saw\, swamp\, weed eat\, lop and check signage. We will be based out of the OTA house in Potosi and this will allow us to disperse along the trail where needed. Be sure to dress for the woods\, sturdy boots\, long pants\, backpack to carry water and a lunch. Volunteers will be carpooling and shuttling along sections of the OT. At the end of the day we’ll share a meal to be determined. If you have any questions\, please contact me\, kathie.brennan@ozarktrail.com
