DESCRIPTION:It’s MEGA time! As the temperatures warm up\, trail construction heats up. Join us as we return to the ONSR Round Spring area to continue construction on our latest project\, connecting the Round Spring loop to Echo Bluff State Park. This gap once filled will create one of the longest hike and float adventures in the ONSR. \nWe’ll be based out of the ONSR Round Spring facility with tent camping (hammocks are no longer allowed) or bring along your camping trailer\, as sites will be available on Friday and Saturday night. Work will commence Saturday morning with lunch and tools provided. After a good day on the trail\, we will relax with Jeff’s famous BBQ\, Kathie’s infamous raffle\, and a bonfire. If you’d like to contribute a desert that would be awesome. \nPlease remember to dress for the work and prepare for the weather. Gloves\, long pants and hiking/work boots are required\, as we are working on rough ground and using tools. Wearing a hard hat is required in the work area. You may want to bring safety glasses. Have rain gear\, sunscreen\, and bug deterrent. SUMMARY:Kicking off the New Year!
DESCRIPTION:We will be ending this year with a trail construction event based out of Current River SP as well as ring in\nthe New Year with a hike on New Year’s Day! You can arrive on Sunday\, January 30 for a day of\nadventure or you could stop by the ACA Kayak and Canoe Workshop at Echo Bluff SP. Here are the\nspecifics:\nWhere: We will be staying at Current River State Park located on Hwy 19 south of Salem MO or north of\nWinona if you are coming from those directions. Camping is available on the grounds as well as showers\nand kitchen facilities. EVERYONE will MEET UP Monday morning at the parking lot north of Carr’s Canoe\nRentals at 8:30 am. Watch for the big green arrow sign. \nWhat to bring: You will need to bring any camping/bedding for the stay over. Not sure how warm the\nbuilding will be so plan for some cooler temps. Be sure to dress for the weather\, layers are best also rain\ngear as who’s to say it might do something. Wear sturdy boots\, no tennis shoes as you will be using\ntools. Have your favorite pair of gloves\, bring a backpack to carry your lunch and snacks as well as water\nto the work site. We will be for the most part a short distance from the vehicles. Bring a camp chair to\nsit in during the day as well as around the campfire at night. You will be responsible for all meals other\nthan dinner on Monday night and we will have a communal breakfast New Year’s Day. I’ll supply eggs\,\nsausage and coffee stuff. Others are welcome to add to it as well if you’d like to help with a side dish for\nMonday night’s dinner. \nWhat are we doing! We will be continuing construction on the trail that will connect Round Spring to\nEcho Bluff SP. SUMMARY:Last Hurrah!
DESCRIPTION:It’s the “Last Hurrah” of the 2018 year as we gather together to get in one more construction event for the year.  We will be based out of Current River State Park.  This can be a one day or two-day event if you want to stay over and help on Sunday. \nWhere:  We will be staying at Current River State Park located on Hwy 19 south of Salem MO or north of Winona if you are coming from those directions.  There is limited lodging so please let me know if you need a bed and camping is available on the grounds as well as showers and kitchen facilities.  You can arrive early on Friday to explore the area. For EVERYONE\, we will MEET UP Saturday morning at the canoe parking lot just before you get to Carr’s on Hwy 19 heading south at 8:30 am. Watch for the big green arrow sign. \nWhat to bring:  You will need to bring any camping/bedding for the stay over.  Not sure how warm the buildings will be so plan for some cooler temps. Be sure to dress for the weather\, layers are best also rain gear as who’s to say it might do something.   Wear sturdy boots\, no tennis shoes as you will be using tools.  Have your favorite pair of gloves\, bring a backpack to carry your lunch and snacks as well as water to the work site.  You will be responsible for all meals other than dinner on Saturday night and we will have a communal breakfast Sunday.  I’ll supply eggs\, sausage and coffee stuff.  Others are welcome to add to it as well if you’d like to help with a side dish for Sat. night’s dinner. \nWhat are we doing!  We will be building new trail.  This is exciting and I hope everyone is ready for some time in the woods as well as digging in the dirt.  If you have any questions\, please do not hesitate to contact me.  I will try to respond quickly as I can.  Again\, if your plans have changed please let me know.  For reference\, my # is 573-382-8370.
