SUMMARY:10/01-03/2021 OT-OHT Build Udall - Canceled due to Weather
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our second fall build to connect the OT to the OHT. \nWe’ll continue building the connection between Missouri and Arkansas. \nWe will again base out of the UDALL campground and will arrive Thursday evening and do prep on Friday. We’ll meet up at the Udall campground at 8:30 am on Saturday and go to the build site from there. \nThe OTA will provide dinner on Saturday night and a pot luck breakfast on Sunday Morning. Weather permitting we may also build on Sunday morning until 12:00 pm. \nYou are responsible for your meals on Friday and lunch on Saturday.  Primitive camping at the Udall campground is available  and we will have alternate camping arrangements as we get closer to the build date.  There is water at the campsite and we will have extra drinking fluids as well. DESCRIPTION:To participate in the race\, register here: https://www.ultrasignup.com/register.aspx?did=82626 \nThe Devil’s Toll Race is a 13-mile dual discipline event across one of the most scenic and rugged landscapes Missouri’s Ozark Trail has to offer. The event traverses from the highest point in Missouri\, Taum Sauk Mountain down past the beautiful Mina Sauk falls and thru the rock formation known as the Devils’ Toll Gate before again climbing over and around Proffit and Wildcat Mountains with a tricky descent past the famous Scour of Taum Sauk reservoir\, finishing with an amazing Black river crossing at Johnson Shut-ins State Park. \nRunners and hikers once again will be in for an awesome adventure across this rugged trail all while supporting the Ozark trail Association. SUMMARY:Oct 18-24 - Whoopin it Up in Winona extended work week
DESCRIPTION:Join the OTA for the annual Fall extravaganza in Winona. \nStay a day or the whole week.  We start each day at 8:30 am. \nWe’ll be sprucing up the southern sections of the OT and getting them ready for the new hiking season. \nWe’ll do some more GAOA tread work and clear more brush and downed trees. \nThe USFS houses in Winona will be our base so you’ll have bathrooms\, limited indoor beds and full kitchen where we can make meals and store food.  Camping is also available on the grounds. \nMotel 60 is just down the road if you prefer more comfortable private lodging. \nWe’ll have more details about where we will be working a couple weeks before the event. \nBring Sturdy work shoes ( hiking boots)\, long pants and be prepared for changeable fall weather.\nWe’ll provide the gloves\, safety glasses\, helmets and tools. \nWe are still being covid cautious so if you have been exposed to covid\,\nbeen in a doctor’s office or hospital in the last 14 days prior to the event or\nyou have symptoms consistent with covid please do not come out. \nThe OTA will provide some dinners and a breakfast or 2. \nBring Your own meals for each day you are there and at least 2 liters of water per day. \nFresh water is available at the house. \nContact Terry Hawn if you need more information. \nthawn@prodigy.net \n314 920 6376

DESCRIPTION:We”ll need volunteers to help man Aid Stations.
