SUMMARY:Soothe the Karkaghne May 16-20\, 2022 @Sutton Bluff
DESCRIPTION:We’ll be working and camping  on the Karkahgne fixing tread under the GAO project.  This’ll be a hike in south of Bee-Fork where we will be doing serious tread rehab work on the Big and Little Nasty tread.  Each day there will be a water crossing and hike to the work site.  When you sign up let us know days you will be attending as well as any meal needs.  The OTA will provide some meals and that will be included in the informational email before the event. \nYou will need to bring the essentials for camping as well as a backpack\, snacks\, food for meals not furnished\, wear heavy boots\, long pants and be prepared for a variety of weather so include a rain coat and water shoes for the Bee Fork river crossing.  Also sunscreen\, bug repellant\, extra water as the water at Sutton Bluff is not potable.  We will also have extra water.  Also bring a swim suit to enjoy the river and a chair for around the campfire at night. \nIf you have any questions or more info\, contact Terry Hawn at thawn@prodigy.net

DESCRIPTION:Join us as we continue to build the OT-OHT Connection along Norfork Lake. \nWe’ll send out more logistics detail the week before the event. \nWe are still observing some basic covid precautions – if you have symptoms\, feel ill \, have been exposed someone with symptoms or covid\, have been in any medical facility that may have had covid exposure . please do not come. \nAs always bring sturdy work boots and work clothes including long pants and long sleeve shirt along with 2 liters of water per day ( the OTA will have extra water and fluids if you need them). We’ll also provide dinner Saturday evening and possible Sunday morning potluck breakfast. DESCRIPTION:2022 REC Fest (Recreation-Exploration-Conservation) \nJoin other OTA Volunteers as we head to the National Great Rivers Museum in Alton\, IL. for the REC Fest held on Saturday\, May 21\, 2022 from 10 AM to 4 PM with the sole purpose of inviting the public to come and learn all about different types of outdoor recreational/educational opportunities and safety while also experiencing everything the National Great Rivers Museum has to offer.  This ‘fair-type’ event will have various activity areas such as outdoor games\, kids fishing skills\, live animal exhibits\, and safety booths such as fire safety\, railroad safety etc. The 2022 REC Fest would be geared towards families and encouraging/exploring safe and healthy outdoor recreation. \nSign up for a couple of hours or all day.  This is a great opportunity to share you love of the OT to others.  If you have any questions\, contact Kathie Brennan at kathie.brennan55@gmail.com. \nHope to see you there!
