Powder Mill trailhead. The parking lot is next to the research center / ranger station. The trail begins at the nearby kiosk and crosses a lawn before entering the woods. About 1/4 mile from Highway 106. |

| 0.1 | From behind the research center, take the spur trail up to Highway 106, cross the bridge, and pick up the trail to the south. |

| 0.1 | Spur trail to Powder Mill trailhead. About 1/4 mile from Highway 106, there is a parking lot, research center, and ranger station. |
| 0.1 | Eastern terminus of Highway 106 road walk. The Current River section is along the road to the west. |
| 0.4 | Western terminus of Highway 106 road walk. If heading south, watch for signs to make the turn into the woods. |
| 1.1 | Take the gravel road for 1/4 mile past the maintenance building before getting back into the woods. |

| 4.4 | Indian Creek crossing. This area needs to be rerouted. Part of the route is on roads, the creek crossing gets constantly flooded and signs get washed away. Hikers often miss the signs and hike long distances on the road. CONSULT YOUR MAP. WATCH FOR SIGNS. |
