0.0 Start at Powder Mill Trailhead. Directions to trailhead
Powder Mill trailhead. The parking lot is next to the research center / ranger station. The trail begins at the nearby kiosk and crosses a lawn before entering the woods. About 1/4 mile from Highway 106.
Powder Mill Trailhead to Powder Mill Connector — 0.1 miles
0.1 From behind the research center, take the spur trail up to Highway 106, cross the bridge, and pick up the trail to the south.
Powder Mill Connector to Current River North Parking — 1.1 miles
0.1 Highway 106. Paved. Watch for vehicles.
0.1 Spur trail to Powder Mill trailhead. About 1/4 mile from Highway 106, there is a parking lot, research center, and ranger station.
0.1 Eastern terminus of Highway 106 road walk. The Current River section is along the road to the west.
0.4 Western terminus of Highway 106 road walk. If heading south, watch for signs to make the turn into the woods.
1.1 Take the gravel road for 1/4 mile past the maintenance building before getting back into the woods.
Current River North Parking to Blue Spring Parking — 1.3 miles
1.2 This is an alternate trailhead that avoids the Highway 106 road walk.
1.3 The trail veers off the road near the maintenance building. Watch for signs. FLOODING HAZARD AFTER HEAVY RAINS
2.4 Turn
2.4 A big gravel bar on the Current River is just off-trail. Great spot to camp or swim or just watch the river flow by.
2.5 The trail follows a gravel road between the woods to the west and a sharp turn before the gravel bar to the east.
Blue Spring Parking to Klepzig Mill Parking — 4.6 miles
4.2 Bluff overlook
4.4 Indian Creek crossing. This area needs to be rerouted. Part of the route is on roads, the creek crossing gets constantly flooded and signs get washed away. Hikers often miss the signs and hike long distances on the road. CONSULT YOUR MAP. WATCH FOR SIGNS.

6.2 MDC used a dozer to work a fire line on the trail. This trail may have to be rerouted. Please send your condition reports to MDC and the OTA.
6.3 Logging road crossing. Dirt
7.0 Rocky Creek. Normally 1-2 feet deep, but subject to flash flooding. Do not attempt to cross during high water.
7.1 Klepzig Mill, old raceway, partial dam and shut-ins. Once of the nicest spots along the trail.
7.1 End at Klepzig Mill Parking. Directions to trailhead
Day-use parking spot for a couple of vehicles. Access via Highway NN - go to end of paved road
